Fall 2017 ad campaigns are starting to show up in fashion magazines as summer is slowly winding down…Love the new Céline ads, always so directional! Inspired by the colors and all the greenery; makes me wish and hope for milder weather ahead!!
Visiting the Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) and Lee Krasner (1908-1984) house and studio in the woods of Springs, in East Hampton, was a very special and touching experience. I have always admired Pollock’s and Krasner’s work, but experiencing the place where so much of their art was created, was so very moving… The couple moved there from New York trying to find a “healing place” from Pollock’s struggle with depression and alcoholism. In this small studio, full of beautiful light, in this secluded area of East Hampton, some of Pollock’s best Abstract Expressionist pieces were created. After his death, Krasener continued her amazing work here as well. To walk over the paint-splattered studio floor where Pollock’s footprints are still visible, surrounded by the silence and stillness of the woods… sooo beautifully inspiring and emotional!!
Will post about the residence in a future post…
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
Coming from the visionary mind of Rei Kawakubo, the display installations in the Dover Street Market stores, Comme des Garçons designer’s multi brand emporium must be no less than extraordinary!!
A mix of art and fashion, they never cease to amaze me. Quoting Kawakubo: “An ongoing atmosphere of beautiful chaos; the mixing up and coming together of different kindred souls who all share a strong personal vision.” A fascinating beautiful chaos!!
Love these stunning photographs by Jamie Hawkesworth for Loewe’s collaboration with legendary Ibiza store Paula’s.
Shot in the store’s founder home in the mountains of Santa Ines, the capsule collection represents what Paula’s is known for, “harmony, exuberance and freedom”, as well as the “fun, art and glamour” of the Ibizan way of life..
I am so much looking forward to the first fall fashion editorials, as summer is slowly winding down…
Love this WSJ Magazine spread featuring Argentinian artist Conie Vallese; the “sculptural minimalism” fashions and the beautiful bright shades of red feel exciting and new. I have also included photos of some of Vallese’s artwork, they seem to blend in sooo beautifully. J’adore!!
What I love most about traveling is the thrill of discovering places that have long been there and you have not been aware of…
Black Swan Antiques in Sag Harbor was such a discovery!! It’s like going on a treasure hunt in this wonder of a store full to the brim with oil paintings, furniture, antique mannequins, “Americana” folk-art, sea-inspired pieces, vintage signs and decorative items and sooo much more!! Every corner with an exciting, inspiring surprise . This has been a true Sag-Harbor experience that is now on our “to return” list when in the Hamptons…
Denim reimagined, updated, redone…
The classic, high rise, rigid, straight, true denim inspired by the forever Levi’s 501 is the new cool. Designers like Demna Gvasalia for Vetements and Raf Simons for Calvin Klein are now the masters of this trend! Love this Vogue China editorial; denim on denim, the new contemporary cool… J’adore!!
