Delpozo’s “Demi Couture”…

Almost Couture.. Josep Font collections for Delpozo have been described as “demi-couture”, as close to Haute Couture as you can get. His Resort 2018 collection is clear proof of his amazing talent!!  Voluminous, architectural, sculptural shapes in bright, fluorescent hues, contrasting with soft, floaty, drapey, ethereal dresses. True “demi-couture” and so beautiful!!

Fashion Flora…

Beautiful works by some of the most important international illustrators are displayed in Nick Knight and Showstudio’s Fashion Flora Exhibition in London.
It has been described as “an explorative look at the use of flowers as a motif in fashion throughout the decades” Artists were inspired by works of some of fashion’s iconic designers, such as Alexander McQueen, Dior and Dries Van Noten, just to name a few. Some of the works and illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful!!   The flowers exhibited just amazing!! Wish I could see this personally… J’adore!

New York’s Flower Market…

I so much enjoy visiting New York’s flower market on 28th Street early in the morning, especially during the spring months..
The hustle and bustle of florists, buyers and floral designers; the color explosion of the most amazingly beautiful blooms, the fragrance, the lush greenery…
I looove looking at the shelves where florists stack-up their selection of flowers and greenery and imagine what the final project will look like. Creativity at work; sooo inspiring!!

The Impeccable Narciso Rodríguez…

The Resort 2018 collection by Narciso Rodríguez is sooo beautiful !!
The minimalist, clean vision of pure lines and shapes Narciso Rodríguez is so well known for is all here, but what has been called by WWD “modernist couture references” of voluminous asymmetric skirts make this collection totally fresh looking and unique. The blush accent color is a win win as well… J’adore!!

The Eccentrics…

A definition of “Eccentric” reads like this:  Eccentric: A wild yet adventurous individual. Magnetic personality and quite curious. Uncommon. Unique.  Some of the people I admire, are definitely eccentric!!
I love this small, unique book by Assouline featuring a diverse group of eccentrics!! From Iris Apfel to Dita Von Teese, from Lynn Yaeger to Kelly Wearstler, Donna Karan to Edward Bess and many more… Each eccentric in their idiosyncratic, special way;  each an inspiring one-of-a kind..

Linda’s @ Bergdorf’s…

Love these Bergdorf’s windows by Donald Robertson on the launch of Linda Fargo’s concept store in the iconic New York retailer.. As Fashion Director for Bergdorf Goodman, the shop will feature Fargo’s “tastes, latest obsessions and fascinations”.
Will post photos of the shop soon… keep posted!!

All the Pinks @ Pietro Nolita…

It must feel like pink paradise for all the pink lovers out there…
The recently opened all pink ’50s style diner-bistro serving Italian dishes in New York, is already a favorite of the fashion crowd.
The walls, tables, lighting, chairs, dishes, plant pots, even some of the items in the menu a different shade of pink !!.
Pietro Lolita is a fun, kitschy place to visit. An experience if you are in the neighborhood and looooove pink!! 174 Elizabeth Street, New York.

Gucci’s Renaissance Revival…

Alessandro Michele had a Renaissance revival for the Gucci Resort 2018 collection…
Presented in the amazingly beautiful Palazzo Pitti in Florence, models walked in front of paintings by Botticelli, Velazquez, Titian, Rubens… walking through some of the most opulent, sumptuous, splendid galleries.
Paisley and floral patterns, velvet, brocade, lace, pearls, leopard prints, classical gilded wreaths… it was all there. It was clearly a Gucci Renaissance excess; and it was sooo great!!
